Clean the wheels on your model and program the decoder so
everything functions like you want it to. Because of the high
speed gearing of the Proto 2000 SD45 model, it runs much fast-
er than other model locomotives. I used a speed curve which
limited the top speed to about half of what it was originally;
the SD45R now runs beautifully with models from Atlas, At-
hearn, and Kato. I also set a four-digit address and a bit of mo-
mentum for both acceleration and deceleration.
The Pan Am SD45R is now ready to enter service on the layout.
