12. Measure and cut the external column cap
sections. Measure the external brick column
sections so they overlap the recessed section
slightly on either side.

Measure the external brick column sections’ width.
These pieces need to overlap the internal section
by about one millimeter either side. This helps hide
the small gap at the end of the internal sections
and visually ties in the internal and external column
sections.
