10. Measure and cut the internal cap sections,
leaving them just slightly short so they will drop
into place. The column cap that overhangs the
end of the internal piece will hide the small gap at
either end.

Measure the internal width in between brick
columns. I usually leave the piece about a millimeter
short so that it fits in easily when it is glued into
place. The small gap at either end will be hidden
by the column cap that overhangs the end of the
internal piece. (Editor’s note: Jason is Australian and
accustomed to working with metric measurements.
One millimeter falls between 1/16th and 1/32nd of
an inch, if you do not have a metric ruler.)

11. Mark the Evergreen styrene strip and cut it to
length with an X-Acto knife or a Chopper.
