Rivarossi’s
new
General Electric
U25C diesel locomo-
tive is now available
from hobby dealers.
Although Rivarossi offered an
HO scale
U25C in the 1960s,
this new version has been produced from all-new tooling.
The ready-to-run model features separately applied details
including horn, handrails, and grab irons, knuckle couplers,
and NMRA RP-25 profile wheels. The locomotive has some
road-specific detailing and lighting configurations per proto-
type practice. Both standard DC (DCC ready) and DCC sound
equipped versions are available. In addition to the Northern
Pacific scheme shown here, the U25C will be available in multi-
ple road numbers decorated for Chicago, Burlington & Quincy;
Pennsylvania Railroad; and Atlantic Coast Line.
The Rivarossi brand is owned by the Hornby Group of the UK.

release in June 2015.
The Ready-to-Roll model has been upgraded with wire truss
rods and arch bar trucks with machined metal wheels. In addi-
tion to the Chicago Great Western car shown here, road names
will include Kansas City, México & Orient Railway; Santa Fe;
Canadian National; Denver & Rio Grande; and Clinchfield.
