bay covered hop-
per. Cars designated for plastic pellet service will be available for
Amoco, Dow Chemical, BFGX-Goodrich, and Louisiana-Pacific.
Cars for grain service will include ADM (above), and Chicago
Freight Car Leasing. The HO scale ready-to-run cars are sched-
uled for release in the first quarter of 2014. They will have an
MSRP of $36.95. An undecorated model will list at $29.95.

year is an HO scale
40' postwar boxcar
decorated for ATSF,
Canadian Pacific,
Burlington, Chicago
& North Western, Erie, and Northern Pacific. Depending on
prototype practice, the HO scale ready-to-run models will have
Dreadnaught or Improved Dreadnaught 4/4 ends, straight or

diagonal roof panels, Superior or Youngstown doors, and either

Bachmann
(
) showed several new
HO scale items at the National Train Show including a DCC-
ready GG1 electric locomotive. Decorating schemes will
be Pennsylvania Railroad (Tuscan red, five stripes), PRR
(Brunswick green, single stripe), PRR (Brunswick green, five
stripes), PRR Congressional (silver with red stripe), and Penn
Central (black). The GG1 electrics are scheduled for release
in October with an MSRP of $199.00. Units with DCC will be
priced at $279.00.
Additional new HO scale items displayed in Bachmann’s NTS
booth included a 50' 6" drop-end gondola decorated for
Western Maryland, Nickel Plate Road, Reading, and Denver
& Rio Grande Western. The models will come with a variety
of loads.
Bachmann also showed an HO scale 72' heavyweight com-
bine decorated for Pennsylvania Railroad, Baltimore & Oho,
New York Central, and Union Pacific. The combine is due in
