Stephens to HMA Hall of Fame
Michael Stephens, who passed away in April, has been post-
humously inducted to the Hobby Manufacturers Association
Model Railroad Industry Division Hall of Fame. Michael’s wife,
Tammy, accepted the award presented during the NMRA’s
annual convention in Atlanta, GA, in July. Stephens’ long career
in the hobby began in his high school days when he worked at
Amro Ltd, an importer of European model trains. He later rose
to the position of vice president at Kalmbach Publishing, then
moved west to become president of Athearn Trains. At the
time of his death in April of this year, Stephens was vice presi-
dent of proprietary brands at Walthers …
George Drury 1940-2013
Parkinson’s disease has taken the life of noted railroad author
George H. Drury. Mr. Drury, who for many years was the librar-
ian at the extensive Kalmbach Library, passed away last month
at the age of 73. A native of Reading, Mass., Drury authored
