Accucraft
) is selling a large scale (1/32 scale
for operation on 45mm G scale track) Union Pacific Big Boy
4-8-8-4 steam engine. The live-steam butane-powered model
is controlled by working Walschaert’s valve gear for forward/
reverse with a screw reverser located in cab. Also in the cab are
a water level gauge, blow-down valve, throttle valve, a pair of
safety valves, super heater tube, and pressure gauge. The dual
flue boiler works on 65 psi pressure. The custom built brass
model has a list price of $8995.
