atmosphere for my layout.
I have used Scenic Express SuperTrees effectively, but despite dif-
ferent approaches applying color and texture to the branches,
they lacked the look I wanted. I took a deeper look into their prod-
uct line, and decided to use their SuperSage product as the basis
of my maples.
The SuperSage value pack is advertised as having enough mate-
rial for nine to 12 trees appropriate for HO through O scale. I
unpacked enough sage material to make seven large trees, one
very large tree, and four smaller ones.

lmost every modeler needs trees on their layout
and many of us need lots of them. Finding the right
combination of cost versus appearance can often be
one of your greatest challenges. The sheer volume needed
can make this seem like an insurmountable hurdle. I knew
I needed some iconic trees trees to model the Eastern United
