6: Delaware & Hudson
25051 is a kitbashed
Branchline 50’ boxcar with a
modified sill and end details.
These cars were purchased
from the PRR in 1972, origi-
nally classified as X-44’s
by the Pennsy. The D&H
applied 2 different lettering
schemes to the cars, white
as modeled here, and yel-
low. All of these had their
roofwalks removed, but only
some of the cars had the
brake gear lowered.

7: Conrail 884196 is one of a small batch of covered hoppers
that were built by the Erie in its Dunmore shops near Scranton,
PA. At the time they were constructed, they were some of the
largest covered hoppers on the rails, and the quality of the con-
struction is shown by the number that lasted into Conrail. The
model is a resin kit from Funaro & Camerlengo, with a plethora
of extra detail parts, including the Plano etched metal roofwalk
and Exactrail trucks.
