Bachmann
plans to release
a new N scale
version of
ALCo’s 1,000
hp S4 diesel
switcher this
fall. The ready-
to-run model will come with a dual-mode decoder that allows
operation in either analog DC or with any NMRA-compliant
DCC system. In DCC operation, the built-in decoder controls
speed, direction, and lighting. The model will have an MSRP of
$129.00, and will be available decorated for Western Maryland,
Southern Pacific, NYC System/P&LE, ATSF, and Union Pacific.
Additional Bachmann N scale models shown at NTS include a
USRA 55-ton twin-bay hopper car decorated for Pennsylvania
Railroad, Western Maryland, Chesapeake & Ohio, Baltimore

At the
National Train
Show,
BLMA
announced long-range plans for a 62' Santa Fe Bx166 double-
door boxcar. The N scale “beer car” will be available next sum-
mer in 12 numbers each for two different decorating schemes.

BLMA showed pre-production samples of its new General
America 3500 cu ft ‘Dry-Flo’ covered hopper car. The N scale
model features etched-metal brake-wheel platforms, 70-ton

names on the initial release will be Burlington Northern,

DeLuxe Innovations
during the fourth quarter of 2013 include 40' refrig-
erated containers decorated for Dole Foods, Maersk-Sealand.
Also coming this winter are three-packs of C&D waste loads
that will fit DeLuxe Innovations’ deep or shallow-rib woodchip
cars. The loads are cast in gray resin and are lightly painted for
a realistic look. DeLuxe Innovations is now selling bulk packs
