board. The track is mostly Atlas code 83 in visible areas with code
100 in staging. The one exception is the steel mill complex, which
is Atlas code 100. The turnouts are either Peco or Atlas.
John has used just about all of the popular scenery construc-
tion methods including foam board, plaster cloth over wire and
Sculptamold. Scenery materials include a wide variety of static
grasses, ground foams and real earth. For ballast, John uses
Highball Ballast products in addition to tile grout and construc-
tion sand. The layout is controlled via a CVP Products EasyDDC
system using both radio and plug-in throttles.
Equipment and structures
One of John’s passions is freight car modeling, and he has over

be picked up by 153, a westbound K&LE through train.
