that end of the car. This time I glued the partitions down first, then
cut through the rug to expose the bathroom tile underneath.
The Bar Area
I had already begun on a bar, but after visiting the real Bamboo
Grove, I scrapped it and started over. The construction methods
were OK, but the color, wood grain, and layout needed work.
For the partitions around the bar, the first attempt was with bass-
wood. The partition was too thick and the one door header was
very fragile. The second attempt went much better. That was until
I realized that the refrigerator was too deep. I had reduced the
side to side dimension of the interior to match those of the car.
I ripped out one wall and the refrigerator. A new trimmed down
refrigerator fit. Fortunately, the refrigerators come three to a pack
so I didn't need to purchase another. Finally I glued the long sofa
to the partition. A little putty on the joint and it is ready for the
base coat of paint.
