Bob Anderson is retired from a
career in information sciences.
After a many decade absence,
he returned to model railroading
10 years ago. He enjoys 3- rail
O-gauge and Lionel operating
accessories from the 50's.
Bob models the red rock
country of the western United
States, especially those areas along the D&RGW, Santa Fe,
and Western Pacific routes. His layout is in a 12' x13' spare
bedroom. To learn more about his layout see his video series
on his LCJ&I Lines at

I weathered the lower platform, glued the conveyor platform
to it, and added Plastruct stairs linking the two levels. The
new lower platform also provides room for a delivery truck to
unload ice blocks. I complete the scene with several Arttista fig-
ures as workers on the icing platform.
By flipping a switch, I can show visitors ice blocks heading up
the belt to the icing station, and workers loading the reefers.
By placing the conveyor belt at right angles to my dock, I was
able to fit it all on my layout. As I originally planned, the whole
apparatus of upper icing platform and conveyor unit is self-
contained in two separate pieces that are easily removable. If
I want to use my original wooden lower loading dock standing
alone, I can. I now have the best of both worlds.

It’s the seventh in a
series I’m making to document my LCJ&I Lines layout.
