sheathed wood boxcars to
transport casting sand.
Although not shown in this
photo, the production version of the model will be fitted with
roof hatches to facilitate the sand service.
Micro-Trains based the let-
tering scheme of this 34’
wood-sheathed caboose on
a car built by Haskell &
Baker for Wisconsin
Central in 1909. Later, WC
leased the caboose to Soo Line.
The prototype of this Santa
Fe 40’ Hy-Cube boxcar
was built for Santa Fe by
Transco in 1967. Excess-
height cars were favored
for high-volume low-weight
