Athearn’s PS-2 twin-bay 2600 cu. ft. covered hopper will be avail-
able decorated for Detroit & Mackinac, Burlington Northern,
Baltimore & Ohio, Norfolk &Western, and Erie Lackawanna.
Features include a photo-etched roof walk.
Athearn’s August
schedule includes
a run of
20,900-gallon
general-service tank cars based on a prototype built by Richmond
Tank Car Company. Road names will be BNSF, Santa Fe, Celtran
Inc., PTLX-General Electric Rail Services, and Dow Chemical.
Completing
Athearn’s August
releases is a run
of Fruehauf 40’
Z-Van trailers. The N scale models will be decorated for Santa Fe,
Chessie System, C&NW, Southern, Nacionales de México, and
Union Pacific. Also an unlettered owner-operator version.

schemes for its Master series
Alco S-2 diesel locomotive.
Availability of both DCC-equipped (ESU Sound) and conven-
tional DC versions of the N scale model is scheduled for the third
quarter of this year. In addition to the Lehigh Valley scheme
shown here, road names will include Canadian National, Central
Vermont, Chicago North Western, Milwaukee Road, New Haven,
Denver & Rio Grande, and Union Pacific. An undecorated version
will also be available.
