JOHN MILLER
John Miller retired from management at
Cincinnati Bell in 1995. This enabled him to
devote the majority of his free time over the
past 20 years to his first love, model railroad-
ing. John’s interest in the hobby began at age
11 when he purchased his first HO model car.
John has been modeling primarily in HO ever since. He was
influenced early on by John Allen. Later, through magazine
back issues, he discovered Frank Ellison and learned a great
deal about operations on the “Delta Lines”. Eventually, he was
influenced in the early 1970’s W. Allen McClelland’s V&O.
John started the version of the K&LE shown here in 2003. John’s
goal has been to do a freelance railroad that’s a composite of
Cincinnati and the surrounding area. This layout was about
90% complete when John decided to move north of Cincinnati
and erect a dedicated building for the newest incarnation of the
K&LE … in 2015.
