7. Hail is another weather effect that impacts our garden rail-
roads in a negative way. This is my garden railway after a hail-
storm in 2003. The golf ball size ice broke most of the ties from
the rail and the ties had to be replaced. I got a new roof out of
this storm. I have heard that deer can trample a G scale yard
or mainline and cause damage with their hoofs. In the video,
the cold hail creates a fog in the air as you witness the broken
spikes and ties.

8. I pulled this photo frame from the video. It is a nice sun-
rise runby on the trestle with a pair of Bachmann K-27s. This
month’s video also features a few runbys in the snow, on the
garden railroad and the real tracks below the bluff – after all,
its winter. Enjoy this January 2015 What’s Neat This Week.
