excess. Once it dries, shake off any loose and excess flakes. A sec-
ond coat of flock does wonders in filling out the under foliage.
After the second coat was on and dry, it was time to apply the
Silfor maple leaves. This material comes on a carrier sheet that
needs to be roughed up to remove the static and uniform look.
I did the cutting and tearing over a bowl to collect the leaves
that fall off for future use. Because I’mmodeling late summer, I
decided to use both the mid summer green leaf, and the late sum-
mer package, which has a few brown leaves thrown in.
Once complete, I found myself a less than excited with the result.
It looked good, but not quite what I was looking for.
Part of it had to do with the shape of the trunk and the resulting
branches, but also with the SuperTree foliage. The brown leaves
just didn’t work well. At a normal viewing angle they look more
