3: Track in Oakhill.
halogen Tota lights
would have trouble lighting the visible side of the cars. Other
problems with the shot were:
The boxcars blocked the scene beyond the train, limiting
depth.
The background scenery wasn't getting enough light.
The foreground truck wasn't a foreground quality model.

4: Another test shot with scene changes applied.
I made some changes and shot some more photos. After sev-
eral rounds of changes I had photo 4. This shot had better light-
ing on the background, a different truck parked in the quarry
and the biggest change – I swapped out two of the boxcars
for empty log cars, putting more usable depth into the scene.
Much better. However, there were still some issues.
The truck's rear wheels were unnaturally shiny
The back window had a rather strange reflection in it.
I wasn't happy with the position of the yellow truck.
Experimenting – going wide
I tried moving the camera farther back into the quarry. The
results were mixed. It definitely was a view of the area I'd
never seen before, but there was a vast area of empty quarry
visible and the back side of the B. Josef sign blotted out much
5: A view showing a lot more of the quarry interior.
Unfortunately this didn't seem like a good thing.
