Bob Grandt 1945-2014
Robert L. Grandt, a well-known mem-
ber of the narrow gauge community and
founder of R/Robb Ltd, passed away
December 17, 2014, following a long ill-
ness. A native of Oakland, CA, Bob is the
son of the late Clifford Grandt, founder of
Grandt Line Inc. Both Cliff and Robert’s
older brother Dave (now president of Grandt Line) were avid
rail enthusiasts, especially of narrow gauge railroads. Robert
was always active in the hobby and played a role in the start-up
of Grandt Line.
Later he started his own company, R/Robb Ltd., in partner-
ship with Russ Simpson. Russ was the first R in R/Robb Ltd.
