ments made, the ICC permitted the SP to cut the Sunset’s
operation to three days a week.
Reported consists at this time period varied so much that it
does not appear possible to diagram the train with a typical
consist. When the combined Daylight-Sunset operated, there
was a very complicated pattern of equipment use which is
described in the chart. This arrangement lasted until the start
of Amtrak in 1971. The days the Sunset was not operating, the
