s I viewed a huge N scale modular layout with the vast
array of train equipment marching past, I was struck by
the idea that a model of the Illinois Railway Museum
would be a natural to model, and would be very enjoyable. Of
course the module would be compressed, as the IRM is actu-
ally a very large facility; but the basic concept, configuration,
and operational elements could be used. The elements I was
thinking of consist of the long straight museum run parallel to a
still-functioning UP line (a former C&NW line), the trolley loop
