His seriousmodeling started in
1968butwent dormant from
’71 to ’95after a shelf layout
collapsed, dumpingbrass
locosontoa concretefloor. He
returned tomodel railroading
in themid ‘90sbypurchasing
a fewHO structurekits for
his kid’sBrio trains and soon
startedbuildinga small switching layout.
Over thepast fiveyears, Charliehasbeen involvedwithMRH
wherehewrites the “Up theCreek” column. He is currently
the superintendent of the2ndDivisionof thePacific
