for the1984 LAOlympics. There’s also the1984elections to
helpestablish the layout’s timeframe.
I will keepmarching through thedecade, reaching 1986 in
2016 andhaving thefirst SPSF Kodachromepower show
upon the line. Then, in late1987 (2017), thefirst black and
orangeDRGWpower shows up.
Oncewe reach2020, I’ll goback to1980 again. Thatway, I
stay perpetually in the1980s.
As I look aroundmy 1100 square foot layout, it’s easy to get
overwhelmed. I can seeprojects that needdoing everywhere
I look. Sometimes, I wonderwhat I have gotmyself into.
When I started the layout back in the90s, I quickly realized
the scopeof this layoutmeant I’dhave to leanheavily on
AllenMcClelland’s “goodenough” philosophy.
For example, I wouldhave tobeokaywith amoderate level
of detail on the locos –with60+ locos on the roster, that’s a
lot of detailingtime if I super-detailed them all.
