1: It’s early morning as the last of the empties are pulled
down Van Buren Street after a long night of switching.
A
brakeman guards the intersection as GN 24872 rolls by. Such
scenes were common in the ‘50s and early ‘60s as many of the
steam era veterans were still in revenue service.
The model was built and photographed by Don Smith. Don spe-
