Alpine Division Scale Models is recovering from a serious flood
that inundated their Los Angeles office and factory. Owner
Michael De Ghetto arrived at work one recent morning to find
water from a broken water main in his parking lot was shooting

Santa Barbara Hobby Store Closed
Sad to report that after 67 years in the same location, Hobby
Central of Santa Barbara, California, closed its door on the 19th
of January. Known originally as Atkins Hobbies, the popular
store was founded in 1946 by Tom and Vern Atkins. The cur-
rent owner, Vern Morseman, began as an employee at the
store many years ago. Closing the Santa Barbara store does not
effect Ventura Hobbies which Morseman will continue to oper-
ate in nearby Ventura, California ...
