VollmerGmbH&Co. KG, hasannounced that it isgoingoutof
business. Based inStuttgart,Germany, the68-yearoldfirm is
best-known toNorthAmericanhobbyists for its lineof injection
molded structures, bridges, vehicles, people, and scenicacces-
soriesofmostlyEuropeandesign. Thecompanyproducedmodel
railroad items inG,HO, TT,N, andZ scale. Thefirmwasestab-
lished in1946byWolframVollmer,whosefirstmajor success
wasanHOoverheadcatenary systemhepatented in1948. The
companycurrentlyproducesmore than1000 items formodel
railroadhobbyists…
