So, four 8-ohm speak-
ers wired this way will
yield an 8-ohm load.
The wiring diagram is

Power rating
While it is usually not
an issue, most speak-
ers are rated for one
watt of power and
most decoders will
only put out a watt or
two. The total power
rating of an array of
speakers will be the
rating of the indi-
vidual speaker times
the number of speak-
ers in the array. For
example, three 1-watt
speakers in an array
will handle 3 watts.
So, now you can see
how speakers can
be matched to the
specifications of your
