          4: Here’s that same area after demolition. You can see how
        
        
          the portal has been removed on the right. The line on the

          The rags are an attempt to protect my bridge and “fin-
        
        
          ished” track. Working behind finished areas is most
        
        
          certainly NOT ideal!
        
        
          The larger area to be demolished was actually the ear-
        
        
          liest portion of the layout that still existed. This was
        
        
          the fictional town of Hammill, and had a long line of
        
        
          structures along the rear that concealed a gash I’d cut
        
        
          into the wall in order to get more depth for larger radi-
        
        
          us hidden turnback curves under the yard there, many
