I worked on the north side of the layout until I had it all tracked
and landscaped, and then put in the long bridge in front of the
picture window that connects the north and south sides. Then
I started on the south side. I still couldn't run trains all the way
around the room.
There was a convention coming up in Burlington and Glenn
Glasstetter was over one day and suggested I find a way of com-
pleting a loop so I could have continuous running and an open
house in time for the convention.
I told him that I had plans for a peninsula down the middle of the
room that would complete the loop and he asked me what I was
waiting for. "Geez, Jim, get it done," he said.
