30: How not to do it: what’s wrong with this picture?
It shows how I did my usual Dullcote of the siding,
then used alcohol to fade the Dullcote. While the
look of it was actually pretty good, I hadn’t counted
on the alcohol completely dissolving the adhesive of
the tape holding the siding in place! To say that I was
not pleased is an understatement. This building sat
for several days while I was in denial about the whole
thing. Eventually I removed all of the siding and started
over from scratch.
