He was 87 years old. Yungkurth was born and raised in Scranton, PA, where he developed his life-long affection for trains. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. Among the many projects he worked on during his 37-year career with IBM were state-of- the-art computers for NASA’s Space Shuttle program.
