Model Railroad Hobbyist | October 2015 | #68 OCTOBER NEWS column Richard Bale and Jeff Shultz Atlas acquires Weaver O Scale Tooling Atlas Model Railroad Co. has purchased most of the tooling for O scale products previously manufactured by Weaver Models. According to Atlas CEO Paul Graf, the acquisition includes tool- ing for Weaver’s 2-8-0, U25B, RS11 and VO-1000 locomotives. Also the troop sleeper and kitchen cars, the Pullman Bradley coaches, the war emergency gondola, the wagontop boxcar, and the class H30 covered hopper. Tooling for the popular telephone poles and 20-foot containers was included in the purchase. The announcement did not indicate when products from the newly acquired tooling might be available. Working brakes in HO scale? According to Shane Stoddard, working brakes and remote uncoupling will soon be available for HO models.
