Anspach, M.D., a long- time model railroad hobbyist and activist on behalf of the California State Railroad Museum, is the recipi- ent of the 2014 Gerald M. Best Senior Achievement Award. As found- ing president of the Sacramento Trust for Historic Preservation, Anspach proposed the establish- ment and construction of a first-class railroad museum in California to house the historically significant collection of the Pacific Coast Chapter of the Railroad & Locomotive Historical Society.
