TheStantonCab - 4
1.CV29=18Allowed speed tablesbut noanalog control. I
noted that if analog controlwas enabled, the loco tried to
respond to the charging trackas anengine command.
2.CV25=16SpeedTableSelect Register allows auser-
defined speed table.
3.CV66=30ForwardTrimmultiplies all forwardvoltageby
about 25%.
4.CV95=30Backward trimmultiplies all backwardvoltageby
about 25%.
5.CV116=30Engine chuff rate.
6.CV3=20ForwardAcceleration.
7.CV4=15BackwardDeceleration.
This all sounds complicated, but the Soundtraxxmanual is
pretty good and the T5000 it is easy toprogram theCVs.
Finding the correct valueswas just amatter of trial-and-error.
Imade apaper tablewithnotes of each trial so I knewwhat
the variableswere. There is noway to read thedecoder val-
ues over the radio, so I found keeping track of the adjust-
mentswas helpful.
It hasn’t all beenabedof roses. The secondbattery loco I con-
vertedhashad troubles. I endedup sending it to theStanton
installers for debugging. They said it checkedout. However,
recently it stopped takinga charge. Itmaybeabadbattery, but
I haven’t hadtime to swap it.
Overall I am very satisfiedwith the system. Itmaynot be the
system for everyone, but it suitsmyneedsquitewell.
