Get your feet wet withmodules ...
A
swe look at today’s stateof the artways tobuild a
home layout, we think there arebetterways. Taking
afill-the-room-with-benchwork approachmay not be
thebestway todo a layout, whether the layout is tobe large
or small.
We’d like to suggest adifferent approach–build the layout in
modulesor sections. Let’sdescribehowwe see thisworking.
Startwitha town, important industryor scenic focal point likea
keybridgeand thenbuilda single section that’s sayoneor two
feet (5 - 10cm)wideand four to six feet (1.2 - 2.4meters) long.
Build this layout section/moduleat theworkbench incomfort,
whichwill allowyou todoyourbestwork.When it comestime
todowiringor install turnout controls, just turn themoduleover
foraneasy install.
Finish thisone section toagood level of completion, exercis-
ingall theneededhobby skills: benchwork, roadbed, trackwork,
wiring, scenery, and structures.Get a starterDCC system that’s
expandable (NCE’sPowercaboraDigitraxZephyr come tomind)
and learn someDCC.
