ferent answers and opinions,
with no clear and obvious
answer. In many cases, the
real answer is: “it depends.”
Depends on what?
It depends on what YOUR
goals and preferences hap-
pen to be.
Let’s take the first ques-
tion above: What’s the best
benchwork height?
How about testing it out
yourself? Get some empty
cardboard boxes and make
a mockup at various heights,
and see which one you like
best. You can read opinions
on forums all day long, but
there’s nothing like trying it
out yourself!
I’m surprised more modelers
don’t think in terms of testing
to get the answers to many
questions like these they have.
Even the question of what
commercial turnouts are best
– is it worth a few dollars to
